Summit County Surveys Residents for Fiber Needs in Underserved Areas and Job Hubs with Feasibility Study

Summit County, Ohio – Summit County is surveying sesidents to determine needs for fiber in underserved areas and job hubs. As the first public step in the work being done by Environmental Design Group as part of County Council resolution 2021-295, the survey data will feed a feasibility study that assesses the telecommunications infrastructure, competitive landscape, demand, and user needs.

The county is encouraging residents to participate in the survey through March 28, 2022 at which point the survey will close. View interactive map of survey area.

Study Area

The Study Area includes a total of 16 zones throughout Summit County spanning parts of areas such as:

  • Richfield
  • Macedonia
  • Twinsburg
  • Boston Heights
  • Hudson
  • Stow
  • Cuyahoga Falls
  • Montrose (Fairlawn/Bath Township/Copley Township)
  • Downtown Akron
  • Ellet
  • Kenmore
  • Summit Lake
  • Barberton
  • Green
